Not your momma's family

I am not much of a TV watcher. Aside from HGTV (which usually serves as background), the occasional "Cold Case" episode, and cable radio (my FM reception is awful, so I listen to NPR via the TV) I don't know what's on. Hence, I've never watched the Fox animated comedies that everyone talks about nor do I pay very much attention to what they say about them. That is, until a couple of weeks ago. According to The Smoking Gun, Carol Burnett has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Twentieth Century Fox, distributor of "The Family Guy. Apparently, they asked if they could use the theme song from her variety show (which is my very favorite television show ever...bar none) and she declined. Next thing you know, there's a cleaning lady who bears a striking resemblance to her "Charwoman" character. Perhaps these people are too young or too stupid to remember that this is the same woman who sued the National Enquirer...and won.

I still don't watch "The Family Guy" and I have no plans to do so, but I do hope Ms Burnett goes two-for-two in the lawsuit department.
