The online edition of the Chicago Tribune reports that "... Democrats had won the pivotal Virginia Senate race, claiming Democrat Jim Webb had unseated Republican George Allen and that had given the Democrats total control of Congress for the first time in 12 years...."

Be careful, and check out CNN "If it walks, talks like a conservative, can it be a Dem?" Many of the new Dems are pro NRA, anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage - the traditional dividing points. Many were quick to separate themselves with the liberal old guard.
Don't be too excited. Webb is a former Reagan adminstration official.

One more thing I just read...the Dems will be going after the Alternative Minimum Tax, another point they in the past protected but now are looking to axe.

perhaps 'tis because the Dems are more inclusive than the Reps who are in a choke hold by the christian right.
